About Jacksonville, North Carolina
Jacksonville, North Carolina is a city located at the center of Onslow County, and it is is a very special case when it comes to real estate. MCB Camp Lejeune
Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune and Marine Corps Air Station New River are central to Onslow County, and they share borders with Jacksonville, Hubert, and Sneads Ferry, with military personnel buying and selling homes in surrounding areas like Richlands, Topsail Beach, Maysville, Swansboro, Maple Hill, and Holly Ridge. The base is also augmented by multiple smaller satellite sites, including Camp Geiger, Camp Johnson, Courthouse Bay, and Stone Bay, which is headquarters to Marine Special Operations Command (MARSOC). Camp Lejeune houses approximately 47,000 Marines and Sailors and is the largest Marine Corps base on the east coast.
Are you military looking to relocate to Jacksonville/Camp Lejeune?
There are approximately 70,000 residents of Jacksonville and 190,000 within Onslow County. With the Department of Defense being the single biggest employer in the area, the demographics and real estate market reflect that fact. There has historically been more stable income in a large portion of the population, coupled with high turnover of home sales.
